West Memphis Man Arrested After Alleged Attack at St. Bernards Behavioral Health

JONESBORO, Ark. — A West Memphis man was arrested after police say two staff members were injured during an incident at St. Bernards Behavioral Health.

According to a probable-cause affidavit, officers responded on Feb. 6, 2026, to a disturbance at a facility located in the 2700 block of E. Johnson Avenue, identified as St. Bernards Behavioral Health.

When officers arrived, staff members had already restrained Dominique Earley after he allegedly attacked a staff member. Police say Earley had pushed another resident of the facility, prompting a staff member, identified as Victim 2, to intervene.

The affidavit states Earley then became more upset and swung at Victim 2. Victim 1 witnessed the incident and assisted Victim 2 in restraining Earley.

During the struggle, police say Earley gouged both victims’ eyes, bit them, and caused visible injuries. The affidavit notes both victims had distinct bite marks with visible teeth impressions, as well as redness around their eyes consistent with eye gouging. Victim 1 also sustained an abrasion on the upper back.

Dominique Jamal Earley, 34, of West Memphis, was arrested for second-degree battery against medical personnel, a Class D felony.

Judge David Boling set Earley’s bond at $50,000 cash or surety and ordered him to be placed on a GPS ankle monitor. The judge also noted Earley was being referred to mental health court and that his bond could be modified if he is accepted into the program.

Earley’s next court date is March 20.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
