LAKE CITY, Ark. — The Lake City city employee seen in a widely shared video kicking a chihuahua has been arrested on what are apparently unrelated charges, according to jail records.
Cameron Casey, 34, of Lake City, was arrested Friday, Jan. 2, in Baxter County on charges of first-degree criminal impersonation of an officer and forgery, jail records show. Casey was booked at 6:14 p.m. Bail was set at $10,000. He is still in custody as of this publication.
Casey is scheduled to appear in court on Monday, Jan. 5, according to jail records.
As of the most recent update, Casey is also under investigation in Craighead County following the circulation of a video that appears to show him kicking a chihuahua while working as a city employee in Lake City. The incident occurred in someone else’s backyard.
According to information provided to NEA Report, the dog died two days later. It wasn’t made clear what the cause of death was. No criminal charges related to the incident on camera have been announced as of publication.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
