Affidavit: Paragould Woman Accused of Abuse Over Multiple Years

PARAGOULD — A Paragould woman is facing multiple felony and misdemeanor charges after investigators alleged that minors in her care reported habitual abuse spanning several years.

According to a probable-cause affidavit from the Paragould Police Department, investigators took Kimberly Contos, 63, into custody on Sept. 24, 2025. Contos was initially arrested on a charge of domestic battering in the third degree involving a minor, and all other minors were removed from her care.

In follow-up interviews, investigators said additional minors disclosed abuse that allegedly occurred over multiple years. The affidavit states that investigators collected corroborating evidence, and after being advised of her rights under Miranda, Contos made incriminating statements.

Contos was arrested again on Dec. 6 and is now facing seven counts of second-degree domestic battering, a Class C felony, and seven counts of endangering the welfare of a minor in the second degree, a Class A misdemeanor.

Bond has not yet been set.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
