Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck by Vehicle on Highway 62 Near Corning

CORNING — A pedestrian was killed Monday evening after being struck by a vehicle on Highway 62 East near Victory Lake Road.

According to Corning Police Chief Blaine McClung, the incident occurred at approximately 6 p.m. on Nov. 10. Officers from the Corning Police Department, Clay County Sheriff’s Department, and Arkansas State Police responded to the scene.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, and the Clay County coroner was notified. Authorities have not yet released the victim’s identity.

Chief McClung said additional information will be made available at a later date as the investigation continues.
