PARAGOULD, Ark. — A Paragould man is accused of fleeing a head-on crash that injured four adults and a child Oct. 21 near C Street and Rector Road, according to an arrest affidavit.
Cody Greer faces a Class D felony allegation of leaving the scene of a crash involving injuries. Judge Curtis Hitt found probable cause for his arrest Oct. 22 and set bond at $35,000 surety.
Paragould officers were dispatched to a crash with injuries and learned while on the way that one vehicle had left, Detective Cpl. Tron Beasley wrote in the affidavit.
The victims told police they were traveling south on Vance Street when a gray SUV swerved into their lane and struck them head-on.
The affidavit lists four adults and one child as injured and says four victims were taken to a hospital for treatment. It does not describe the injuries.
Investigators identified Greer as the driver who left the scene, according to the affidavit. During an Oct. 22 interview at the Paragould Police Department, Greer admitted being involved in the crash and fleeing to his home after being advised of his rights, Beasley wrote.
Greer told investigators he left because he was scared and panicked, according to the affidavit.
The bond order prohibits Greer from contacting victims, witnesses or others involved in the case and requires him to remain law-abiding.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
