PARAGOULD, Ark. — A Missouri man is accused of providing fraudulent savings bonds used in an attempted scheme at a Paragould bank, according to a probable cause affidavit.
On May 1, 2025, Paragould police officers were dispatched to Focus Bank, 3005 W. Kingshighway, after employees reported that a woman tried to cash fraudulent bonds. Investigators said the woman, identified as Kimberly Shank, attempted to cash two savings bonds valued at $5,000 each.
During the arrest, officers found a third savings bond inside Shank’s purse. Police said the investigation determined that Yorel Wilson, 45, of Portageville, Mo., supplied the bonds and drove Shank to the bank.
Wilson faces three counts of forgery, a Class B felony; conduct constituting attempt, a Class D felony; and theft of property valued between $5,000 and $25,000, a Class C felony. Bail was set at $10,000.
All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
