Two Face Multiple Felony Charges After Drug Package Leads to Apartment Search in Jonesboro

JONESBORO, Ark. — A Jonesboro man is facing multiple felony charges after police say a package containing marijuana led investigators to discover drugs, firearms, and cash inside his apartment. Another man is also facing charges in the case.

According to a probable cause affidavit, on Aug. 7, 2025, agents with the 2nd Judicial Drug Task Force were contacted by UPS about a suspicious package flagged by a K-9 unit at the company’s sorting facility. Investigators said the package contained about one pound of suspected marijuana flower.

Undercover officers conducted a controlled delivery to an address on Gladiolus Apartments in Jonesboro. Police say Marcus Hill, 42, picked up the package and delivered it to 1412 Links Drive, Apt. 5, where investigators observed 24-year-old Danny Boykins take possession of it. Officers then obtained a search warrant for the apartment.

Inside, investigators reported finding the marijuana packaged into clear bags, along with a digital scale containing residue, individual baggies, and a note allegedly referencing the drugs. Officers also said they found a Glock 17 handgun, an additional Glock 17 magazine with 78 rounds of ammunition, and $4,055 in cash.

Boykins was arrested and faces charges of simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, a Class Y felony; possession of a Schedule VI substance greater than 4 ounces but less than 10 pounds, a Class D felony; possession of drug paraphernalia, a Class D felony; use of a communication device, a Class C felony; and offenses related to records, maintaining premises, etc., a Class B felony. His bail was set at $150,000 cash or surety by Judge Tommy Fowler.

Hill was arrested and charged with delivery of a controlled substance, a Class C felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a Class D felony. His bail was set at $50,000 cash or surety.

Both men are scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 30, 2025.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
