Probation Search Leads Police to AR-15-Style Pistol

JONESBORO, Ark. — A man on probation faces a Class B felony after Jonesboro police said they found an AR-15-style pistol in his vehicle during a probation search.

Quion Williams is charged with possession of a firearm by certain persons. His bond was set Monday at $100,000 cash or surety.

According to a probable cause affidavit, officers were investigating a group smoking marijuana in a Daybreak apartment parking lot Aug. 22 when they encountered Williams.

Williams told officers he was on probation. Police subsequently conducted a probation search of his vehicle and found the pistol, the affidavit states.

A records check indicated Williams had previously been convicted of a violent felony and other felonies. The Class B felony charge carries a possible sentence of five to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $15,000.

In setting bond, Judge David Boling noted Williams had been arrested six times since July 2025 on violent charges, some involving weapons. The order also states Williams pleaded guilty to some charges in June and received probation.

Williams’ next court appearance is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Oct. 26 at the Craighead County Courthouse.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
