JONESBORO, Ark. — A probation search led the Jonesboro Police Department to discover a suspected DMT manufacturing lab this week in Jonesboro.

According to the probable cause affidavit, on August 6, 2025, investigators with the Street Crimes Unit visited the 2200 block of Shoshoni Drive to locate Michael and Akyra Alston. Both subjects had a search waiver, with Michael on a suspended sentence and Akyra on active supervision. Officers told advised they were conducting a probation search. They cleared the residence and began.

Authorities reported finding four LSD tabs in a dresser drawer, with a box of insulin syringes. One gram of suspended yellow DMT powder was located in the dining room. Investigators searched the kitchen and reported finding 904 grams of suspected DMT, 1 gallon of suspected liquid DMT, .5 grams of suspected MDMA, 1 gram of suspected meth, 1 gram of marijuana, and two digital scales.

Police noted the gallon of liquid DMT was found in a crock pot filled with water and turned on. The 904 grams of DMT powder were separated into three pie dishes with dates written on the coverings.

“This brown powder is a key component in manufacturing DMT,” wrote Investigator Levi Chism. “This powder is mixed with fuel and heated by a low heat source to manufacture DMT. Once this solution is cooked, it produces a yellow liquid that is placed in a freezer that yields the finished DMT product.”

Investigators searched the freezer and found about 18.5 ounces of suspected liquid DMT in four separate glass jars. They also reported finding around 17 ounces of suspected liquid DMT in four  Pyrex containers in the garage deep freezer. Police found a purple bong with suspected meth residue in the kitchen cabinet.
