Jonesboro Man Arrested for Allegedly Kidnapping Juveniles, Judge Sets $750K Bond

JONESBORO, Ark. — A Jonesboro man who was already out on three bonds is now facing a new Class Y felony charge of kidnapping, which could carry up to a life sentence.

On June 22, 2025, JPD officers responded to an address at the 1800 block of West Nettleton Avenue about a reported kidnapping, according to the probable cause affidavit. Officers arrived to find several people at the residence. Several juvenile victims stated that Kameron McDaniel pulled his vehicle in front of them while they were on their bikes, then threatened them by telling them to get in the car, or he would kill them. This came with an accusation that the juveniles had stolen items from his sister’s vehicle.

On August 6, Detective Luke Lane interviewed McDaniel at the police station. He was read his rights, and the affidavit says he waived his right to speak with an attorney present.

“During this interview, Kameron McDaniel states that someone else was driving his Jeep at the time the juveniles were confronted,” wrote the detective.

McDaniel claimed that after he was in the vehicle, he drove the Jeep to the juveniles’ parents’ house. After going to the parents’, Kameron didn’t let them get out and then backed out of the parents’ driveway. He then took the juveniles to his sister’s residence, where the vehicle had been broken into. After arriving, one juvenile ran away.

The juvenile victim and witnesses told police that McDaniel slapped the juvenile around while inside his sister’s garage, threatening him about breaking into the car. He then reportedly took the juvenile back to the parents’ residence and confronted the parents.

Kameron Leshawn McDaniel, 24, of Jonesboro, was arrested for kidnapping, a Class Y felony; first-degree terroristic threatening, a Class D felony; and third-degree assault, a Class C misdemeanor.

On Aug. 6, Judge David Boling set bail at $750,000, noting McDaniel is already out on three different felony bonds, some of which may be revoked. The judge mentioned his concern about how McDaniel’s charges are becoming more serious. A GPS ankle monitor was ordered as a condition of his release.

His next court appearance is scheduled for Sept. 30, 2025.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
