PARAGOULD, Ark. — A man was taken into custody after allegedly fleeing from a one-vehicle crash that resulted in a rollover and fire near the intersection of Highway 358 and the Highway 412 Bypass, according to Greene County Sheriff Brad Snyder.
Deputies and Arkansas State Police troopers responded to the scene after receiving a report of the crash. While units were en route, dispatch advised that the vehicle had caught fire and the male driver had run from the scene into nearby woods.
Emergency personnel arriving on scene found the vehicle on fire and began searching for the driver. After a search of the immediate area, troopers discontinued the effort and stated their intent to seek a warrant for the driver’s arrest.
At approximately 3:30 p.m., a resident in the 780 Road area reported seeing someone matching the suspect’s description walking nearby. Deputies and troopers responded and located the man, taking him into custody without incident.
No other individuals are believed to be involved. Arkansas State Police is handling the crash investigation and any potential criminal charges, Snyder said.
