Former Citizens Bank Building Demolition Prompts Downtown Road Closures

JONESBORO, Ark. — Progress on the demolition site of the Former Citizens Bank Building is set to disrupt traffic flow in the downtown area, city officials warn.

Affected Roads and Closures: Starting at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, March 5th, Washington Ave. will be closed from Union Ave. to Main St. for the duration of the demolition project.

Traffic Adjustments: During this period, right turns from Main St. onto Washington Ave. will still be permitted. Truck routes will be redirected to Bridge St.

Lane Reduction: Union Ave. will be reduced to a single lane near the demolition site to accommodate ongoing construction activities.

The public is advised to plan alternative routes and expect delays in the affected downtown area until further notice.
