Cocaine, Ecstasy Found in Apartment Search, Affidavit Says

Eric Dewayne McCarroll faces drug charges after agents reported finding suspected cocaine, 29 suspected ecstasy pills and marijuana in a Jonesboro apartment. Bond was set at $75,000.

JONESBORO, Ark. — A drug task force search of a Belt Street apartment led to an arrest after agents reported finding suspected cocaine, ecstasy pills, marijuana and drug paraphernalia, according to a probable cause affidavit.

Eric Dewayne McCarroll faces three felony charges and a misdemeanor charge following the search Friday, Oct. 23.

Agents with the 2nd Judicial Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at 2003 Belt St., Apartment 8, according to the affidavit. An agent reported watching McCarroll regularly come and go from the apartment before the search.

Agents found McCarroll and a visitor in a back bedroom. The affidavit states McCarroll was the apartment’s sole resident, was on the lease and paid the utilities. The other person was described as a guest.

In a black shower tote in the kitchen, agents reported finding 3.8 grams of suspected powder cocaine and 29 suspected ecstasy pills. Field tests were positive for cocaine and MDMA, respectively, according to the affidavit.

The kitchen search also turned up two digital scales with suspected cocaine residue, 3.8 grams of suspected marijuana and $381 in cash, the affidavit states.

In the bedroom, agents reported finding a torn $1 bill containing 0.2 grams of suspected powder cocaine on a dresser, along with a straw with suspected cocaine residue. The powder also field-tested positive for cocaine, according to the affidavit.

McCarroll was taken into custody after the search.
