Greene County Man Accused of Terroristic Act for Shooting Incident

PARAGOULD, Ark. — A man is accused of endangering the welfare of a minor and committing a terroristic act after an incident involving gunfire Friday in Greene County.

The probable cause affidavit states that on Feb. 28, deputies responded to a residence in Greene County where a caller stated that the potential defendant, Michael Kelly, had shot at her husband. A description of the vehicle that Kelly had departed in was given to authorities.

Deputies located the vehicle on Highway 135N and Theil Road. A pistol matching the description given by the alleged victims was located under the driver seat of the suspect vehicle.

Witnesses were interviewed and told deputies Kelly came to their residence to fight with one of the residents inside. When confronted, Kelly allegedly shot one round toward the house and three people who were outside before driving away. One minor was outside the residence and two inside during the entire incident.

No one was injured.

Michael Kelly, 19, was arrested for Terroristic Act, a Class B felony, and Second-Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Minor, a Class A misdemeanor. Bail was set by Judge Dan Stidham at $50,000 cash only with requirements for an ankle monitor, no weapons, and no contact with the alleged victims or witnesses.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
