Southern Bancorp to Host Free Tax Filing Event at St. Bernards Auditorium in Jonesboro

Event will feature free tax preparation, legal assistance, health screenings, and more

On Saturday, February 22nd, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Southern Bancorp and other community partners will host a “Super Saturday” event where anyone who earned $67,000 or less last year may get their taxes filed for free. The event is part of Southern Bancorp’s ongoing Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, through which its IRS-certified staff provide free tax services for its communities every year during tax season, whether one is a customer of theirs or not.

Free tax preparation is available at participating branches throughout the season, and its “Super Saturdays” provide a flexible, weekend option for those who are unable to make it to a branch during the work week. (For more information visit: banksouthern.com/taxes)
