WEINER, Ark. — A Weiner City Council member has been arrested on three counts of third-degree stalking following an Arkansas State Police investigation.
Councilman Arthur Booth turned himself in Monday, July 13, at the Poinsett County Detention Center, according to an ASP news release issued Friday.
The investigation was conducted by ASP’s Criminal Investigation Division after Second Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney Sonia Hagood requested it June 2.
Booth was processed and released. He is scheduled to appear Aug. 4 in Harrisburg District Court.
ASP did not release details about the allegations that led to Booth’s arrest.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
