Paragould Man Accused of Making Threats

PARAGOULD, Ark. — A man is accused of calling an alleged victim and threatening to kill him on a phone call police listened to in Paragould.

On Nov. 15, the Paragould Police Department responded to a local bar regarding a disturbance between two people, according to the probable cause affidavit. Police separated the two and gave the defendant a ride home, so as to avoid further conflict.

While still on scene at the bar, the alleged victim received a phone call from the defendant. The call was on speakerphone. Police recognized the voice as Williams and noted in the PC affidavit that he made a threat to kill the victim.

The defendant, DeShaun Williams, 36, of Paragould, was arrested at his home for first-degree terroristic threatening, a Class D felony. Judge Dan Stidham set bail at $10,000 cash-only with a no-contact order.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
