Man Injured in Shooting Incident Saturday in Jonesboro

JONESBORO, Ark. — A shooting incident with a significant injury was reported Saturday in Jonesboro.

Police responded around 3:33 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14 to the 300 block of North Allis Street about a shooting incident.

The incident report said a 19-year-old male suffered internal injuries from being shot. Officer Jeremy White wrote that he found the victim lying in the hallway of an apartment bleeding from what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds. A witness said he had been shot in both legs and the pelvis.

The shooting reportedly happened outside of the apartment, near the northeast corner. Police located one shell casing at the scene.

Police recovered a Kimber Micro 9mm pistol, described as silver with wood hand grips. The gun may have been stolen, as the report mentions a theft by receiving a firearm charge.

The incident is under investigation.
