JONESBORO, Ark. — A frightening police report detailed an alleged robbery at gunpoint of a disabled woman this week in Jonesboro.
The incident report released by JPD alleges that it happened at 10:31 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 3 at an apartment unit in the 2000 block of Belt Street. Police were called a short time after the incident. A 63-year-old retired female, who lives at the residence, was reportedly robbed at gunpoint. Specific details have not yet been released and much of the incident report remains masked.
During the incident, the items listed as stolen included a wallet, a driver’s license card, a Social Security card, a food stamp card, $150 in cash, an iPhone 13 belonging to a separate person, and a Motorola phone.
Police noted that they found the alleged victim’s phone in a suspect’s apartment. Authorities also located tax papers belonging to the disabled woman behind the 1800 block of Self Circle, which is near the address of another suspect.
The report lists three suspects, two of whom have been arrested. Joshua Pearson Vann, 21, and Benjamin Jasper Valeary, 30, both of Jonesboro, were arrested in connection with the incident. Both face aggravated residential burglary and aggravated robbery charges, both Class Y felonies punishable by up to life in prison. A third suspect was listed in the report but his identity was masked, with the report only detailing that he is a 43-year-old black male.
A temporary bond has been set for both of the arrested subjects. Vann’s bond was set at $500,000, while Valeary’s was set at $1 million. In addition, Valeary had a warrant for his arrest for failure to appear related to drug charges. A $25,000 cash or surety bond was set for that offense.
Both suspects were in court for their probable cause hearings on Friday. Judge Tommy Fowler left the bonds in place for both suspects.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
