“Industry-Disrupting” Cheeseburger Slider Brand Coming to Jonesboro

JONESBORO, Ark. – A new trending cheeseburger slider brand is coming to Jonesboro.

On Tuesday, Haag-Brown Commercial is expected to announce Smalls Sliders first entry into the Jonesboro market. The developer posted a teaser Monday featuring the background of the Smalls Sliders branding – a bright orange metal surface seen at their website. Several readers quickly made the connection and confirmed it by checking the “locations” section of Smalls Sliders’ website.

The menu is a simple approach, with various versions of cheeseburger sliders offered along with waffle cut seasoned fries, milkshakes, and other drinks.

The announcement that Smalls Sliders would enter the market was initially revealed back on August 21, 2023, in a press release announcing that an ownership duo involved in various brand operations would be entering both Missouri and Arkansas.

Amber and David Kearby were described in the release as seasoned entrepreneurs, owning multiple McCallister’s Deli locations as well as having run a lumberyard and farm for 15 years while also developing residential and commercial real estate.

“When looking for our next business venture, we wanted to invest in a brand that allowed us to have a close relationship with the entire team,” Amber said in the release. “We were immediately attracted to Smalls Sliders for the unique structure of the Cans and the fresh, cooked-to-order sliders. After meeting the Smalls Sliders Squad, we knew that we made the right decision. The team has been very helpful and insightful, making this process seamless. David, Matt and I are proud to be a part of the brand’s incredible growth and look forward to opening our first Can soon.”

The company refers to its locations as “Cans.” Smalls Sliders opened its first restaurant in 2019 and has since grown to eight Cans throughout Louisiana. The company was created by Brandon Landry in 2019 with support from former NFL quarterback Drew Brees. Locations are being announced for Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Florida, and Missouri, with more regularly being added. The company said in a release it anticipates 30 new Cans to open this year, which would more than triple the current count of open locations.

In May, Smalls Sliders announced the brand was making an entrance into Little Rock, Conway, Benton, and Hot Springs, with their second agreement for Arkansas. Based on the pending locations, Jonesboro is set to be the first location in the state.

The opening date has not yet been announced, although Tuesday’s expected announcement from Haag-Brown could change that.

  1. Sorry, but l can’t think of anything we need less. Why can’t we get a restaurant that serves plain American wholesome food.

What do you think?
