Man Arrested After Allegedly Holding Victims at Knife-Point

JONESBORO, Ark. – Authorities arrested a man on charges including kidnapping after a tense incident Sunday in Jonesboro.

The call to police came in at 1:38 PM on March 24, with numerous officers being dispatched to a domestic disturbance in progress. The report says when officers arrived, they were flagged down by one of the alleged victims who said the suspect was holding her daughter and granddaughter at gunpoint inside of the residence. The incident report indicates the 20-year old daughter had a romantic relationship with the suspect.

The report is mostly masked by investigators, who are continuing to look into the case. However, visible portions state the arrestee held the victims at knife point, with officers recovering a lethal cutting instrument from the suspect. There was no other mention of firearms in the unredacted portions of the report.

Mark Edward-Allen Buie, 23, of Brookland, was arrested for first degree felony kidnapping and misdemeanors for battering and endangering the welfare of a minor. He also had an out of town warrant for his arrest. The report describes him as irrational and mumbling his speech when arrested.

Jail records show an aggravated assault charge, suggesting police may have amended his original charges. However, jail records are not always accurate.
