Report: Drug Deal Leads to Shooting at Apartments in Jonesboro

JONESBORO, Ark. – An incident report from police indicates that an argument over a drug deal led to a shooting Sunday at the Links Apartments in Jonesboro.

Police responded at approximately 3:21 AM on January 21 to 1112 Links Circle, the Links Apartments, to a shots heard call, according to the incident report released by the Jonesboro Police Department.

Officers arrived to find a 17-year-old male victim with a single gunshot wound to the lower chest. The bullet exited out the lower back. He was flown to Memphis for care, JPD’s Public Information Specialist Sally Smith told NEA Report. His latest condition is unknown to media.

The police report indicates a drug deal went bad due to some sort of argument, leading to the shooting. One of four listed suspects was arrested in the incident.

Dajani Bush, 27, of Jonesboro, was arrested on numerous charges including felony first degree battery, felony fleeing, and felony criminal mischief. He’s also being held on a parole violation and a probation violation, too.

The other three suspects weren’t identified in the report.
