JONESBORO, Ark. – A woman was assaulted and sustained injuries following an incident earlier this week in Jonesboro.
The incident occurred between 4 AM and 5:30 AM on Dec. 13 at the 900-block of Warner Avenue in Jonesboro. According to the report, a 33-year-old woman engaged in a verbal altercation with a male and a female over the alleged theft of her phone.
As the investigation is ongoing, specific details about the sequence of events remain undisclosed. However, it appears that during the altercation, the victim was struck with a blunt weapon in the back of her head by at least one of the suspects. The blow caused a severe, deep laceration to the victim’s head.
The suspects are described as a white male aged between 35 and 45, and a white female aged between 30 and 40 with short red hair. The report indicates the suspects are neighbors to the victim.
Both suspects are facing charges of second-degree battery, a felony, along with a felony charge of theft for allegedly stealing the victim’s iPhone. If the value of the stolen property exceeds $1,000, the theft is classified as a felony. The missing phone is described as a light blue iPhone 14 Pro displaying a baby picture on the lock screen.
