JONESBORO, Ark. – A recent burglary reported to Jonesboro police allegedly involved the theft of a gold coin estimated to be worth $45,000.
The incident occurred between November 6 and November 13 at the 4900-block of S. Culberhouse Street, according to the police report filed on November 22. Wallace W. Fowler Jr., 64, the reported victim, informed the police that during his absence from town, someone had stolen a piece of jewelry from his residence.
The report details a Liberty gold coin, 24k, encircled by 1/4 ct. diamonds, along with a 24K gold chain inside a blue Tiffany box, all valued at $45,000.
The authorities were provided with a thumb drive containing video footage related to the incident. However, the visible portion of the report does not specify the video’s content or whether any suspects are identifiable in it.
Both residential burglary and theft of $25,000 or more are classified as serious Class B felony charges. Each offense carries a potential sentence of five to 20 years of incarceration, along with fines up to $15,000.
