JONESBORO, Ark. – St. Bernards Auxiliary is gearing up to celebrate its 35th annual “Light Up A Life” ceremony on Tuesday, November 28th. The event, a hallmark tradition, aims to extend crucial support to cancer patients undergoing treatment.
Scheduled from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the St. Bernards Medical Center Lobby on 225 East Washington Avenue, Jonesboro, AR 72401, the ceremony promises an evening of community solidarity and festive spirit.
“Light Up A Life” serves as a beacon of hope for cancer patients, rallying support for the St. Bernards Cancer Support fund. This fund plays a pivotal role in offering crucial assistance to individuals navigating long-term cancer therapy. By providing housing aid, meals, gas cards, and bus fares, the fund eases the burden on patients undergoing extensive treatment.
The event’s agenda includes heartwarming caroling sessions, delightful refreshments, and a highly anticipated moment – the arrival of Santa Claus at 6 p.m. Santa will illuminate the Christmas tree, symbolizing the commencement of the 2023 holiday season, and spread joy among attendees.
Volunteers from St. Bernards will share poignant insights into the significance of the Cancer Support fund for patients amid their battle against cancer. Additionally, the Jonesboro High School Choir will lend their voices, filling the ceremony with uplifting melodies.
The St. Bernards Healthcare’s Auxiliary groups, comprising dedicated volunteers, epitomize the institution’s commitment to embodying the mission of “providing Christ-like healing to the community.” These groups devote their time, energy, and resources to bolstering St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro, along with extending support to St. Bernards Five Rivers Medical Center in Pocahontas and St. Bernards CrossRidge Community Hospital in Wynne.
