One Arrested in Fatal Paragould Shooting

PARAGOULD, Ark. – A suspect is in custody after a fatal shooting Monday in Paragould.

The incident happened around noon on November 27 near the Reynolds Road area, an update to social media said.

Captain Jason Elms, Public Information Specialist with the Paragould Police Department, told NEA Report more about what happened, reporting that one person was killed and another injured in the shooting at the 2500-block of Chadwick Drive. Authorities learned about the incident after a man was waving down motorists while in a possible mental crisis of some form. They took him into custody and he told officers his father may be having a health issue at the address on Chadwick Drive. When police responded there, they found a man lying unresponsively on the floor and entered the home. The man was dead from gunshot-related injuries. A woman was also found who was seriously injured with gunshot wounds. She was flown out for medical care.

No identities have been released as of yet.

Authorities are continuing their investigation. More information will be released as it progresses.
