
PARAGOULD, Ark. – A tragic collision claimed the life of a Greene County resident over the weekend, the sheriff reported.
At approximately 11:12 pm on November 11th, Paragould Emergency Services received a 911 call from a motorist reporting a collision with a pedestrian on Highway 358 near the intersection of county road 715. Deputies, upon arrival, discovered the deceased individual in the ditch on the south side of the highway.
While the Arkansas State Police are conducting an investigation into the crash, preliminary details released by the sheriff suggest that the motorist was traveling eastbound on Highway 358, and the pedestrian was walking in the same direction along the eastbound lane at the time of the incident. The pedestrian was wearing dark, camouflage-colored clothing when struck.
The deceased has been identified as Ashley Harris, 28, of Greene County. The operator of the motor vehicle involved is a minor and will not be identified due to legal considerations.
Arkansas State Police are overseeing the investigation, and no further information will be released by local authorities regarding this matter.
