Thieves Swipe Trailer from Jonesboro Worksite

JONESBORO, Ark. — A recent theft in Jonesboro serves as a reminder that while some people earn their income through hard work and skill, others resort to thievery for a quick gain at the expense of others. In this incident, a valuable trailer was taken from a worksite overnight in Jonesboro.

The theft occurred between October 19 and the early hours of October 20 at the 3100-block of Southwest Drive. According to a report filed with the Jonesboro Police Department, a 35-year-old employee of McCartney Construction, fell victim to the theft. The stolen item is a 2021 black B/R 76×14 dump trailer, valued at approximately $7,500.

It isn’t known if authorities have any leads in the case. Much of the report is masked under investigative status.

Theft exceeding $5,000 but falling below $25,000 is classified as a Class C felony under Arkansas law, with a potential prison sentence ranging from 3 to 10 years.
