Stolen Vehicle Recovered in Jonesboro After Suspect Flees Traffic Stop

JONESBORO, Ark. – A stolen vehicle was recovered this week after a traffic stop with a fleeing suspect who managed to escape arrest.

The incident occurred between 9 PM and midnight on September 26 when Patrolman Greg Trout pulled over a beige 2007 GMC Acadia near Burke and Union Street. The vehicle had been reported stolen. The suspect, aware of the impending arrest, fled the scene on foot and successfully evaded capture.

However, during the search of the stolen vehicle, several items were discovered, including a blue iPhone belonging to the suspect, digital scales, plastic baggies, and marijuana. A blue Nike sweatshirt and a blue Denver Nuggets flat bill hat with a red brim were also found.

The suspect, described as a 6-foot-tall black male, now faces charges including theft by receiving, theft of a vehicle, fleeing, possession with intent to deliver, and numerous traffic violations

Despite the suspect’s escape, the recovery of the stolen vehicle and evidence may aid in the ongoing investigation.

The vehicle was recovered in good condition, police said.
