Man Arrested on Multiple Charges After Domestic Disturbance in Jonesboro

JONESBORO, Ark. – A Jonesboro man faced a series of charges, including a felony, after police responded to a domestic disturbance incident this week.

The altercation took place between 9:30 and 9:58 AM on September 25 at an apartment in the 500-block of Melrose Street. Law enforcement had received reports of a disturbance unfolding inside the apartment.

Upon arrival, officers encountered a 37-year-old female victim who displayed visible signs of injury, including redness, scratches, and swelling around her neck. According to the victim, she had been choked and thrown into a dresser by the suspect. EMS personnel also documented a mark on her back as a result of contact with the dresser. Furthermore, the victim reported that her phone had been broken during the altercation.

Rontea Glenn Thompson, 37, of the same address, was taken into custody around 9:49 AM. He now faces several charges, including felony aggravated assault, as well as misdemeanor charges for interfering with emergency communication and criminal mischief.
