Wild Incident at Jonesboro Hospital: Suspect Allegedly Chokes Nurse

JONESBORO, Ark. – A police report has detailed a chaotic incident that occurred on Saturday at St. Bernards Hospital in Jonesboro.

The incident unfolded between 12:30 PM and 12:40 PM on September 23 at 225 Jackson in Jonesboro. According to the police report, a suspect attempted to force his way past nursing staff at the hospital. Due to partial masking of the report, the precise sequence of events remains unclear, but the situation escalated to the point where the suspect allegedly choked a nurse until she was unable to breathe.

The 21-year-old female victim struggled to speak for several hours following the incident due to the choking.

The suspect left the scene before police arrived and is described as a 38-year-old black male.

The case is currently under investigation and is being treated as a potential instance of aggravated assault, which is a Class D felony carrying a maximum sentence of up to six years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
