Jonesboro Man Arrested in Vehicle Break-In and Theft

JONESBORO, Ark. – In the early hours of Sunday morning, Jonesboro police apprehended a suspect allegedly involved in a vehicle break-in and theft.

The incident occurred at approximately 5 AM on September 17 at the 1100-block of Mays Lane. According to the police report, the suspect had used a pry tool to break a window and gain access to a vehicle with the intent of stealing a purse. The authorities received a report of a theft in progress, prompting a swift response from officers.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered the suspect in possession of a backpack containing various personal identity documents, debit and credit cards. Some of these cards were found discarded in a nearby area leading to Cedar Heights.

The suspect, identified as 50-year-old Rickey Walker of Jonesboro, was subsequently arrested. Walker is facing multiple charges, including felony breaking and entering, theft of property (credit/debit cards), misdemeanor charges of criminal mischief, tampering with evidence, littering, and resisting arrest. The report also mentions suspicions of drug use.

Currently, Walker is being held in the Craighead County Detention Center on a $50,000 bond. Jail records indicate a parole violation associated with his detention.
