Jonesboro Resident Falls Victim to Felony-Level Home Vandalism

JONESBORO — A local resident recently became the victim of a home burglary and vandalism.

The incident occurred between 11 a.m. on Aug. 31 and 11 a.m. on Sept. 1 at an apartment building on the 4700 block of Samantha Avenue. An unidentified individual or individuals kicked in the resident’s door, causing vandalism significant enough to merit a felony charge, according to the responding officer.

The suspect or suspects damaged several items inside the home, including two televisions. One of the damaged TVs, an 86-inch LG brand, was valued at $8,700.

The case was under investigation as of the latest update.

Elsewhere in Jonesboro, another resident fell victim to burglary on East Cherry Avenue. The incident was reported after 6 p.m. on Sept. 1. This time, a theft was committed. The thief made off with a blue and green Nintendo Switch, leaving the victim visibly distressed by the theft, as the responding officer noted. Police did not appear to have any leads.
