
JONESBORO, Ark. – A Sunday afternoon shooting in Jonesboro left two people injured, and the Jonesboro Police Department (JPD) is actively investigating the case, according to an official statement.
The shooting occurred around 3:09 p.m. in the 3500 block of Race Street on August 6. Police were alerted to the incident by a caller, and as officers were en route to the scene, they learned that two individuals had arrived at a local hospital with gunshot wounds. The victims had been transported to the hospital in a private vehicle.
Upon arriving at Race Street, officers identified the scene of the crime. The JPD Criminal Investigation Unit has since taken over the investigation.
As this remains an ongoing investigation, the JPD has stated that additional information will be released as it becomes available.
