PARAGOULD, Ark. – Authorities in Greene County discovered a murder this week, but the suspect ended their own life before they could be arrested.

On the 16th day of May, 2023, Paragould officers discovered a deceased individual in their residence while conducting a welfare check. The deceased was sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for further investigation. The manner of death was determined to be homicide, and a suspect was developed during the investigation. An arrest warrant was then issued and the suspect was located in a neighboring jurisdiction. Prior to officers taking them into custody, the suspect took their own life via self inflicted gun shot. As this is still an ongoing investigation, no additional information will be released at this time.
