$200,000 bond set for kidnapping, robbery suspect

JONESBORO, Ark. – A wild incident involving allegations of robbery, kidnapping, and more went down on Monday in Jonesboro.

It happened around 5:51 PM on April 24 at the 1700-block of West Nettleton Avenue. It apparently began as a transaction surrounding a cell phone. A male and female couple, the victims, met with the suspect to complete the transaction. The police report alleges that a suspect took the victims’ phone after driving off with the female victim, 24, still in the car.

The husband opened fire on the fleeing vehicle, according to police, striking the vehicle several times. The report goes on to say the suspect forced the victim out of the car at gunpoint later on down the road.

It didn’t take long for JPD to locate the suspect. He had driven his own vehicle, registered in his name. The black 2008 BMW 535 Series four-door car also stood out to police when they reached the suspect’s address (971 Links Circle, Apartment 1), because of the bullet holes in the rear window, rear passenger windows and possibly the body of the vehicle, as the report said. The police report said he was unarmed at his residence when arrested at 9 PM. Authorities also seized a digital scale with marijuana residue.

Jaidien Allantae Fletcher, 21, of Jonesboro, faces charges including first degree kidnapping, aggravated robbery, aggravated assault (all felonies), theft, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond was set for $200,000 for the suspect.

The aggravated robbery and first degree kidnapping charges, both Class Y felonies, carry a minimum sentence of ten years – up to 40 years or life in prison.
