Hit and run suspect with suspended license arrested

JONESBORO, Ark. – A man was located and arrested after leaving the scene of an accident Friday in Jonesboro. It wasn’t the first time he had been in trouble behind the wheel, either.

Around 10 AM on April 21 at the intersection of E. Johnson Avenue and Miller Street, officers responded to the incident, the report with JPD said. A 2013 GM Acadia was involved in a wreck with a white 2013 GM Sierra (pickup). However, police noted the driver of the truck fled the scene. They soon found out why.

The truck was located at an address on Miller Street. Officers would end up arresting the suspect, David Cody, 53, of Jonesboro, on the following charges:

  • Driving while license cancelled/suspended/revoked
  • Hazardous driving
  • Suspended/revoked registration/title
  • Leaving the scene of an accident
  • DWI
  • Ignition Interlock Devices
  • Contempt of Court for Failure to Comply

He spent the weekend in the Craighead County Detention Center and was released Monday afternoon.
