JONESBORO, Ark. – An officer noticed what appeared to be a homemade temporary license plate on a vehicle this week but after a traffic stop, that was only the beginning.
Around 5;49 PM on March 27 near Dan Avenue and Willett Road, Officer Jacob Lowery noticed a red pickup truck headed west with a homemade license plate. The number didn’t return to the truck, unsurprisingly, so a traffic stop was initiated. The driver, Farrell Thomas, 55, of Trumann, told police he didn’t have a license.
The investigative narrative remains masked in the report released to the public. However, from there, authorities ended up performing a search of the vehicle and found bags containing pills, methamphetamine, marijuana, and other paraphernalia.
The driver, Thomas, was arrested as was Joseph Leslie Vangness, 42, and Bryce James, 33, both of Jonesboro. The report lists charges including possession of several drugs with intent to deliver, in addition to fictitious tags, no license, and no insurance charges.
