A social media post on Friday told the public not to be alarmed if they see large police presences at Jonesboro schools this summer.
The Jonesboro Police Department officers are participating in specialized training designed to sharpen their tactical skills during critical events, the statement posted to Facebook said.
We are working with safety members from each school to better familiarize ourselves with the layout of their campus. This community partnership will strengthen our commitment to keeping our children safe.
