A new chicken finger restaurant will soon be coming to Jonesboro, Haag Brown Commercial said in a release on Wednesday.
Below is the full press release:
Before Zaxby’s and before Raising Cane’s, there was an innovative family who was the first to build their brand solely around made from scratch chicken fingers and amazing sauce. That brand was Guthrie’s and Haag Brown Commercial is thrilled to announce they are coming to the trendiest retail development in Jonesboro – The Uptown!
Local franchise owner Brian Biggs and son Mason have signed a multi-unit agreement to bring this exciting, family-based restaurant to Northeast Arkansas, opening the state’s first Guthrie’s in Jonesboro later this year. The father-son duo will own this operation and future Guthrie’s stores as they spread the brand throughout the state. Brian has over 20 years experience in the foodservice industry and co-owns such local favorites as Munchy’s and The Social, while Mason currently attends the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville.
This is not just another chain restaurant. This is America’s original chicken finger restaurant. For more than 50 years, Guthrie’s has been drawing in crowds from across the country for its hand-breaded chicken fingers rooted in a tradition of fresh, hot, and fast, with a generous dash of southern hospitality. Rounding out Guthrie’s simple, yet classic menu is hand-chopped coleslaw, crinkle-cut French fries, Texas toast, and its signature dipping sauce.
Guthrie’s is a trailblazer. They were doing something so simple as chicken, fries, and bread, so extremely well, that others like Zaxby’s and Raising Cane’s followed in their steps. We are excited to be a part of bringing the country’s original chicken finger brand to Jonesboro and look forward to helping meet their expansion needs across the rest of the state.

To say the brand is rapidly growing would be an understatement. Founded in Haleyville, Ala. in 1965, Guthrie’s has added more than 40 locations across six states with another 17 slated to open in the next 18 months.
The 2,100 square foot, free-standing restaurant with a full-service drive-through will be situated beside Chipotle near the highly trafficked intersection of Caraway Road and Highland Drive. Surrounded by an array of the city’s top-grossing businesses – Kroger Marketplace, Texas Roadhouse and Tommy’s Express Car Wash, the state-of-the-art building will have exposure to over 41,000 cars per day.
Guthrie’s proven record of success centered around old school flavors with a modern spin made it a perfect fit for this location within The Uptown – a strategic and refreshing redevelopment of the old Indian Mall.
Principal Broker Joshua Brown and Executive Broker Corey Fuhrman worked to secure the deal. Construction will begin soon
