St. Bernards Receives Ninth Consecutive ‘Best Places to Work in Arkansas’ Award

JONESBORO, Ark. – St. Bernards Medical Center announced Tuesday it had received its ninth consecutive Best Places to Work in Arkansas award, honoring the state’s best employers who benefit the economy, workforce and businesses alike.

The program, created by Arkansas Business Publishing Group and Best Companies Group, recognizes 50 companies statewide. Entrants participate in a two-part survey process, which includes workplace policies, philosophy, systems and demographics as well as a more heavily weighted employee survey measuring employees’ independent experiences. The combined scores, managed by Best Companies Group, determine the top companies and final rankings.

St. Bernards Medical Center Administrator Michael Givens said the hospital takes great pride in providing employees with not only a work environment, but a home as well.

“We talk about the ‘St. Bernards Family’ often, because our team members carry out our mission of providing Christ-like healing,” Givens said. “These individuals unite for a common goal, and the work they do impacts our immediate patients as well as generations to come.”

Givens said COVID-19 has created challenging—occasionally overwhelming—obstacles for the organization. He credited the endurance of St. Bernards employees as one of the few, but much needed, constants.

“We consider it a privilege anytime someone chooses to serve at St. Bernards, especially amid the difficult circumstances of this past year,” Givens said. “We owe our team members a great debt for their sacrifices made when caring for our patients, and we look forward to further evolving how we, in turn, care for them.”
