Paragould Police Respond to Bomb Threats

Authorities in Paragould investigated two bomb threats on Monday.

At approximately 5:58 pm, Paragould Emergency Services received information of a bomb threat at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center. Officers responded to that location and began coordinating with AMMC security and staff.

After officers were on scene at AMMC for approximately thirty minutes, Paragould Emergency Services received information regarding a second bomb threat, this time at the Paragould Walmart Supercenter on W. Kingshighway. Officers also responded to this location.

In both instances, company/facility bomb threat protocol was followed, and Paragould Police officers assisted in those processes, a release said.

Once the threats were deemed unfounded, both facilities were returned to business as usual.

At this time, both incidents are under investigation by the Paragould Police Department’s Criminal Division. If further information becomes available, it will be released at an appropriate time.
