JONESBORO, Ark. – The big pink elephant by the car wash is one of Caraway Road’s more recognizable symbols but recently, it has sat in front of an empty business. This year, that will change.

Haag Brown Commercial Real Estate announced on Friday the former Elephant Car Wash property, 2305 South Caraway Road, had sold. The buyers are the owners of The Southern Chef, a popular dining location in the industrial park area of town.

Soon, the Caraway Road will have a taste of The Southern Chef as the owners open their second location. The Southern Chef & VP Racing Fuels will open on Caraway sometime in 2020, the release from Haag Brown said.

The owner told NEA Report his plans are to open sometime in July.

Zac Qualls represented the Buyer, Sai Real Estate LLC, while Joshua Brown represented the property’s Seller, H20 Services, LLC.

“When I think of the old Elephant Car Wash property I immediately think of Caraway Road. And with the amount of commercial activity and redevelopment Caraway has seen in the last few years, it was perfect timing for this property to be added to the list of redevelopments! I will be frequenting the convenience store for my daily dose of caffeine!” – Zac Qualls, Commercial Broker
