Izard County Sheriff Earnie Blackley has passed away

IZARD COUNTY, Ark. – The community is mourning the loss of Izard County Sheriff Earnie Blackley.

The family announced Blackley passed away at 9:20 AM Saturday morning, January 4, 2020. It was announced through his Facebook profile and then shared by the Izard County Sheriff’s Department.

NEA Report contacted the sheriff’s office and confirmed this.

Lauren Siebert with Areawide Media told this reporter the sheriff had been battling cancer.

Our condolences are with those close to Blackley, family, and the sheriff’s department.
