JONESBORO, Ark. – A murder investigation was underway Wednesday morning in Jonesboro.
The victim was Keisha Criglar, 29 of Jonesboro.
The 600-block of Meadowbrook was the approximate address of the murder, according to JPD’s Sally Smith, Public Information Specialist.
At about 6:49 AM, a neighbor made the initial 911 call. The victim, a mother of three, was unresponsive. One witness told a reporter was the victim’s children who alerted the neighbor.
Police arrived and found the woman to be suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The coroner arrived a short time later and pronounced the victim deceased.
Authorities immediately launched a murder investigation into the case.
NEA Report interviewed someone neighbors about what they saw or heard. Most said they had heard no gunfire overnight, just as JPD said of calls in the area about shots fired. However, one woman said she heard what she thought were shots after midnight. She said she was up late writing a research paper for school and heard it.
But, she added that she hears gunshots so often in this neighborhood, she didn’t think anything of it.
Authorities appear to believe the murder involved a suspect known to the victim, meaning it was not a random act. However, no suspect information has been made available.
As of 10 AM, investigators were still going through the home looking for evidence, clues, and answers.
