
HORSESHOE BEND, Ark. – A 30 year old was shot multiple times Sunday morning in Izard County.
At approximately 3:30 a.m. on July 7, 2019, the Izard County Sheriff’s Department received a call of a shooting in the 1200 block of Ridge Circle in Horseshoe Bend. When deputies and emergency personnel arrived, they found Mitchel Dunkel, 30, of Horseshoe Bend, shot multiple times.
Dunkel was transported to a Jonesboro hospital for treatment. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening, a press release said.
Detectives worked the case on the holiday weekend. As a result of the investigation a suspect was developed – Jerry Lynn Williams, 61, of Mountain Home and formerly from Horseshoe Bend.
He was arrested in Mountain Home approximately an hour and a half later.
Williams is currently incarcerated in the Izard County Detention Center pending formal charges.
