
JONESBORO, Ark. – A serious traffic accident took place late Wednesday in Jonesboro, injuring one. The vehicle at fault was a stolen SUV and the suspect is still wanted by police.
At about 10:20 PM, police were sent to the intersection of Race and Curtview where an accident with a motorcycle and passenger car took place. The victim, Jerry Cornelius Brown, was being tended to in a yard. He was riding his motorcycle and about to make a left turn onto West Acre when he was struck from behind by a vehicle. He couldn’t remember anything after that and was unable to give a written statement.
The vehicle that struck Brown was stolen blue 2003 Lexus GX470 SUV. After making contact, the vehicle flipped on its side into a ditch near the intersection.
The suspect fled on foot. Witnesses said he was a white male wearing a white T-shirt and gray pajama pants. He fled south on Curtview around 10:15 PM Wednesday night. A K9 officer arrived and attempted to track the suspect but was not able to find him.
The vehicle was stolen out of Horn Lake, Mississippi.
Police have no leads on the suspect as we publish this but that could quickly change if someone notifies authorities with more information. The suspect faces a felony for leaving the scene of an accident with injury. He also faces multiple other charges depending on his involvement in the acquisition of the vehicle.
