Street Crimes Unit makes three busts in one day

Thursday was a busy day for the JPD Street Crimes Unit.

JONESBORO, Ark. – From pounds of pot to crack pipes and guns, the Jonesboro Police Department Street Crimes Unit made a big haul on Thursday.

First, what began as a traffic in north Jonesboro led Officer Chris Jefferson to find three pounds of marijuana and a handgun. Once the vehicle was searched, the Second Judicial District Drug Task Force got a warrant and searched a nearby apartment where the suspect had just been. There, they found seven more pounds of marijuana.

Next, the SCU helped JPD’s detectives with a parole search of a suspect in relation to fraudulent use of a credit card. Taking place in west Jonesboro, this search resulted in meth, pills, pot, needles, and loads of other paraphernalia.

A third bust happened before the day was over, too. In the third (announced) bust, SCU officers seized meth, meth pipes, and marijuana. This was during a probation search in south Jonesboro.
