Suspicious death on Feb. 28 was murder; police seeking woman

JONESBORO, Ark. – A suspicious death reported last week has been determined to be murder. With a homicide investigation in full effect, police hope to find a woman they believe was connected to the case (although we don’t know how).

David Marshall, 44, was found dead on Feb. 28, 2019 in a residence at 1101 French Street in Jonesboro. It was first reported by police to the public the next day, March 1. He had suffered a gunshot wound, JPD PIO Sally Smith told NEA Report. However, at the time, police weren’t confident that it was a homicide.

That changed on Monday, March 4.

“The Jonesboro Police Department has now upgraded the suspicious death to a homicide. If you have any information about the death of David Marshall, please call,” said the Facebook post.

Police also released a photo of a woman who has gone missing. She was listed as a roommate of the person who was murdered.

If you have any information on this incident, please call 935-5553 or CrimeStoppers 935-STOP.

Correction: An earlier version said the murder happened on March 1. It was first reported then but happened the day before. NEA Report regrets the error.
