WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. – Jordan Cooksey is officially the chief of police in Walnut Ridge.
He’s been serving in that position on an interim basis since the resignation in May of former chief Chris Kirksey. Kirksey resigned after ordering tickets be written to a railroad worker who was trying to file a complaint against an officer. This was captured on video and obtained by NEA Report.
The news came from an agenda for the Dec. 17 city council meeting, sent to press Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 12. The agenda said Cooksey was made the police chief last week and that no action is needed by the council.
It is being noted to be entered into the minutes.
